From Instrumental to Vocal Tribute

One of the album's most significant tracks, "Once Upon the Night," has a history reaching back to Xander Demos' Guitarcadia release, where it originally appeared as an instrumental.

That recording was produced and mixed by the late CJ Snare of FireHouse. During the original sessions, Snare suggested that the instrumental would make a terrific vocal song. XDB ultimately took that suggestion and turned "Once Upon the Night" into a full vocal track for Gods of Aliens.

"We wanted to make CJ's vision a reality," says XDB. "We hope CJ is smiling down on us, pleased with the final track."

The album also features Emily Stroup on lead vocals on two tracks, with XDB planning to showcase more of her lead vocal talents on future releases.

The official production release of Gods of Aliens is scheduled for December 1, 2026.

A Distinctive Visual Identity

The album artwork was created by acclaimed Italian graphic artist and designer Nello Dell’Omo, whose extensive work with rock and metal artists includes a long-standing partnership with Frontiers Music Srl, bringing his distinctive visual style to Gods of Aliens.

PITTSBURGH, PA — September 2026 — Pittsburgh melodic rock band XDB is preparing to unleash its new album, Gods of Aliens, with a special limited advance release at the band's upcoming performance with Stryper at Jergels Rhythm Grille on October 4.

Before the album's official production release on December 1, 2026, XDB will make just 100 advance-release CDs available for purchase at the October 4th show. Once those limited copies are gone, fans will have to wait for the official release to get their physical copy.

Gods of Aliens features 12 tracks showcasing the songwriting, musicianship and vocal talents of the entire XDB lineup. Songs were contributed by members throughout the band, making the album a true representation of the collective talents and musical personalities that make up XDB.

The album was recorded at Shark Nest Studio and 10th Floor Studio in Pittsburgh. It was produced by Xander Demos and Rob Kane, with Kane also handling the mixing and mastering.
